Union Common Fire

The Union Area Chamber of Commerce members would like to thank and congratulate everyone who contributed to the heroic save in the recent fire on Union Common.  Their coordinated actions prevented a disaster from turning into a catastrophe.

Specifically, members of the Mutual Aid System demonstrated courage and skill in bringing the fire under control and preventing even greater damage to surrounding buildings.

Additionally, The Common Market, Four Corner Variety and Mic Mac Market supplied water and refreshments to keep everyone going.  Thank you!  It was most appreciated.

In addition, many people volunteered their time to make sandwiches and pass out refreshments to everyone.  While too numerous to name, these people were a great help in keeping moral and energy high.  Thank you to all who helped out!

Both the Union Ambulance and Sterling Ambulance services were on hand.  Thank you for being there!

Feraiolo Construction was also instrumental by sending an excavator and crew up to help combat the fire. Thanks for their participation!

This fire has demonstrated the skills our emergency services have at both fire fighting and working together.  We are very proud of these people and those in the community who support them during these situations.  We thank you all!

John Fromer, President UACOC
